just ate some delicious NACHOS! from our favorite mexican food place in the city, El Brazero. so damn good. it was my reward to myself after spending the whole day (or about 9 hours of it) painting the dining room a nice shade of green. it looks so handsome. usually i am a person where when i paint, be it a room or canvas, i usually hate it the minute i dip the brush in the paint. but this green looks AWESOME. anne did a really good job picking it out. it looks all formal and makes her Robin Hood-centric bookcase look all classy.
i was told by my boss, anne, that i don’t have to draw tonight because i spent all day painting. i appreciate that but still feel i should contribute something to the blog besides a couple hundred words. so i drew this:
painting is not so bad.
so now it is onto the three other remaining rooms. hallway, living room and bedroom. none of the colors we have picked for those rooms are right. i think we need to aim lighter. maybe like a apricot? or a peach? i dunno. i just know i love the dining room and that painting a ROOM is a lot less crappy than painting a kitchen or a bathroom. fear made me put it off.
it was actually really nice today. it didn’t get too warm. i had the house to myself (anne was a trooper and went in to cover lunches at work). listened to some music and stayed pretty focused all day. the thing that shocked me the most was how grown up my stuff looks in a room where i helped choose the paint color because it matched other things. plus anne has this great French Robin Hood poster, it’s like 4’x5′, bill got it for her for her birthday. it’s got a little yellow orange in it, so it looks great against the green and it ties into the kitchen. Something about “ARROWS, KARATE and BEANS!” who knows what that means in the context of Robin Hood… but it’s got a lady bitch-slappin’ another lady and Robin jumpin’… so i’m happy.
well. i will draw something better tomorrow. or at least something bigger or more interesting. night folks.
